Cheltenham International Salon of Photography

Posted by

Results are in from the 2013 Cheltenham Camera Club photographic competition associated with FIAP, RPS and PSA, in which I submitted a number of entries into Colour, Monochrome, Wildlife, and Travel sections. Entering into the Wildlife section was admittedly a total punt, as it’s such a specialised category, particularly when you’re up against professional photographers. I had a shot of woodland deer that scored 9 (with acceptance scores of 11)…close, but no cigar as they say. I did however get two images accepted; one in the Colour section (of Olympic rower in training at Henley-on-Thames), and another in the Travel category (of street musicians with a disinterested¬†audience of one in Barcelona), scoring 11 and 12 respectively. Only 25% of accepted images will go on display, so as yet, I’m not sure if I can bask in my brilliance in a public place, but a little confirmation of your meagre photographic efforts is sometimes a nice thing anyway.

Photonbox is a portfolio and photography blog of my work and others. The others are the great and the good, shining examples of great photography. My own work by contrast is a soft glow, but practice makes perfect…
