Just saw this story on the BBC website about an American solider specialist, Hilda Clayton who was training Afghanistan troops, in photojournalism, when a landmine in a training exercise exploded. It’s a remarkable image and seems extraordinary that it was recorded.
Military Review magazine published the images with permission from the family.
“Clayton’s death symbolises how female soldiers are increasingly exposed to hazardous situations in training and in combat on par with their male counterparts,” the Army wrote in the edition.
