Nex 5N with Minolta M-Rokkor 40mm f2

In a continuing search for the perfect small set up, I give you the Sony NEX 5N & Minolta M-Rokkor 40mm f2 combination. I’m using a KIWIfotos lens adaptor, which seem very well made and much cheaper than the critics ultimate choice of NOVOFLEX. The M-Rokkor was designed for the Minolta CLE rangefinder camera, which was up until the Leica M7 came out was the most technologically advanced rangefinder cameras. The M-Rokkor lens, use the same design as the Leica Summicron, and are generally considered their equal. I’ve never owned a Leica lens, but the tiny M-Rokkor is beautifully built, and is TINY, so suits the NEX perfectly, and its a focal length that I have on my Pentax and 43mm Ltd, so I feel at home, though the minimum focal distance is double on the Rokkor 40mm, at 80cm.

I might try and do a comparison test of the Pentax and NEX with these lenses – just for fun, real world photos…no charts and studios pictures of playing cards and a bottle of Bailey’s like on dpreview!
