There’s a coot aboot…

I got two images of this coot around its nest in the reeds – I was trying not to disturb her too much. I judged the other image better, so its gone on the folio page, but I like the pattern of horizontal lines of the reeds in this wide crop format. I’ve processed them the same way, color wise, though this blue tinged light is down to the time of day – the white balance is as shot. I really like the inky blue water against the earthy colour of the reeds – it has a monocromatic feel to it. This was shot with the NEX 5N and 40mm m-rokkor lens, which after spending the day with and seeing the results, I can see why this lens is coveted so much. It is mucho SHARP!
